Sub-product

Hi all! I was just wondering if anyone knows (or if it is even possible) how to create a “sub-product”? We are planning to offer bundles of products but most of them need to be their own separate product as the components may become confusing. We are worried about how cluttered the drop down menu will become in the create new section. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great thank you :^
